Legion Rules Empty
PostSubject: Legion Rules   Legion Rules Icon_minitime1Fri Feb 03, 2012 4:57 am

EDIT by Mavelle:
The forums are going through major updating, including rules and organization, so be aware some
things are seriously outdated and don't apply anymore.

1. Legion Management

1.1) Legion Leadership:
Harakan, Tsuzor, Hellroth, Booger, Drunky, Mavelle, Merwyn
1.2) Inviting routine:
Requirements for becoming a member:
Quote :
1 - You need to be lvl 50 or above.
2 - Have knowledge of the English language - be able to speak it, and understand it. We won't invite people who can't understand the leader's instructions.
3 - Be Active and willing to participate in legion activities (sieges, instances)
4 – Using TS. You’re not required to talk, but at least you need to be able to listen.

In Eclipse we have a volunteer and a legionary system. There are some differences between both:

- Volunteer: Are generally the kind of people that ask for a invite for the legion and wait to be invited on spot with no questions asked, generally say they've read the rules after 10 seconds (pretty impossible), or suffer from the laziness disease and claim that writing an application consumes too much of their brain cells. If you fit into this category, we can still invite you, yes. But you will NOT have the same rights as a legionary has: You cannot access the legion warehouse and you cannot request items from it, which will include kinah for crafting quests, medals, and tradable world boss loot (Ativas, Tatar, Sunayaka for exemple) Make sure you are aware of that.

- Legionary: To be a legionary you must:
Quote :
- register here on forums
- open an application thread here and fill out the following application form  as detailed as possible in order for us to get an idea of who you are.
- when you are done, the only thing left for you to do is be patient until the leadership reaches a decision regarding your status. A reply will be left in your thread and, if it's positive, you will be asked to contact one of the leaders (listed in 1.1) ingame.
-As a legionary you will be able to view and deposit in the legion warehouse, and request items in it, and be elegible for tradable world boss loot.

1.3) Alt characters and lowbies:

Alt character rules and restrictions:
- Each member is allowed to have ONE alt character in the legion. This toon has to be lvl 46 or higher.
- If you wish to have an alt added to the legion, write in the Alt char application thread so we can add your char's name to the list of legion members and your char to the legion.
- In your legion note you will have to write the name of your main char, so people know who they are dealing with.
- Volunteers aka people without the Legionary status/forum application will not be allowed to have alts in Eclipse.
- This alt char will permanently have the volunteer status and as such will never be eligible for Sunayaka weapons or hairpins, as well as Moltenus or Tatar weapons.
- Your attendence in a world boss raid with your alt will naturally count in the raid tables as if u were there with your main char
- Ativas wings/rings and Tatar belt - in case no MAIN character in the legion alliance happens to need the aformentioned drops, alt characters will be allowed to roll on them.
- Legion activity - as we expect you to be active on your main, you have to be active on your alt aswell. Since having an alt in the legion is a privilege, we expect it to contribute to the legion, be it in the form of world boss raid participation, AP, helping others, crafting, instances. Inactivity on the alt of 14 days or more will mean that those requirements haven't been met and the alt will be kicked from the legion.
- Switching the main and alt char - will be allowed once/twice, BUT with some restrictions. You will not be allowed to switch mains/alts like you change your underwear. For example, u recieve a Sunayaka/Moltenus/etc weapon or on your main and some time later decide to switch to your main to your alt. If we allow such a switch, on the new main char, you will NOT have the possibility to apply for a world boss drop. So think carefully before the decision to "reroll" or "switch mains" is reached.
- if you leave the legion with your main, your alt will be kicked aswell.

An alt legion called "Little Eclipse" has been created by Valery for our legion Alts and lowbies, so please pm Valery / Valerian or Mavelle if you wish to join your alt on it.
In the same manner, the alt legion will accept applications of people under lvl 50, and when they reach that lvl they can ask to be moved to the main legion.

1.4) Talk with the leaders:
If you have a problem with anyone or anything, contact one of the leaders first, we are here to help you out. Whatever the problem with another legion member or anyone else is, rather contact us, then let the situation escalate.

1.5) Be patient:
The leaders are only human aswell, they have real lives outside the game and can't be there 24/7. Every problem can be solved, only thing that's required is a little bit of patience

2. General Rules

2.1) Be nice friendly and polite:
This is main rule of this guild. Foul and/or offensive language won't be tolerated and can lead to expulsion of the offending legionmate. Don't use foul language to offend/flame any person in legion chat and forums.

2.2) Be patient with lower lvl players:
They may not know everything as well as you do, so try to help out and explain it to them so they may know for the next time. Be willing to explain to growing players about the game, raids, legion activities and rules, so they have a chance to become a good and caring member in future.

2.3) Language:
We don't expect from you to have a college degree in English, but you should be able to know it well enough to communicate with legionmates. Communication is very important for instance, pvp and most importantly for a good atmosphere in the legion. We understand that you might want to speak in your own language but avoid doing it in legion chat. There are whispers/groups for that and you can even create a channel for you and other people.

2.4) Bots and Speed hacks
Using Bot programs or Speed Hack programs is not accepted and will not be tolerated. If we find out that member is using such programs actions will immediately be taken, the person will be expelled from the legion, and the proof of the hacking will be sent to the support, which will result in their account getting banned.

2.5) Ninjas
Ninja-ing will not be tolerated. If we find out that you ninjad something, you will get expelled. We are a serious legion and teamplayers, if you cannot accept that then you won't be a part of that team. Also, if you find out or hear rumours that one of our members is a ninja, ask for proof, and forward that proof to one of the leaders who will then take care of the issue. Don't argue it out on your own or seek personal justice, that's what the leaders are there for.

2.6) Selling in the legion
Selling in the legion is not allowed!!!!! You have a trade chat or LFG for that. Helping the legion crafters by buying the materials they need to make the stuff for YOU, is a completly diferent matter. They usually make little to no profit of it.
To be updated.

3. Forums and TS

3.1) Register and use:
Everyone MUST be registered on the forums. If you have any technical issues with the forum, contact XRay or Mavelle in game. Visit the forums often to keep yourself updated. The forum is here for easier sharing of information, updates about the game, funny videos and pics you found on the internet, your real life problems, game problems etc.

3.2) Forum name
When you register on forums, fill your info including the name you use as your in-game character name. Also, at registration, use the name you are using ingame for you main character.

3.3) Forum Spam
Don't spam unneccessarily. We have a spam section for that. No one who needs help from a tailor or armorsmither needs to hear about the new brand of multilayered toilet paper you bought in the store yesterday in his thread.

3.3) Teamspeak Channel
You will find info about our Teamspeak in  Server adress and permanently ingame in our legion announcement. DO NOT GIVE OUR TS INFO TO PEOPLE OUTSIDE OUR LEGION. No matter who it is, if it's not on the legion, it's OUT the TS. Failling to obey this rule will have serious consequences.

4. Inactivity

4.1) Maximum inactivity for players:
- 7 days unannounced.

4.2) Announce your innactivity:
If you have real life issues which don't allow you to log in and play, please let us know on forums or in game by contacting the leaders. If you don't want to get kicked for no reason, it's strongly recommended that you pay attention to this rule

5. Raids / Instances / Dungeons / Sieges

5.1) Don't be greedy
If you are a sorcerer with an awesome tome, let's say +10 Stormwing tome with a pvp fuse, don't roll on that Debil tome that drops in LUT if the SM/Sorc from your legion needs it to replace his Blue tome. As said before, teamplay or no play.

5.2) Planning dungeon runs
If you feel like raiding something, ask in legion first, maybe someone wants to do it aswell. If someone needs help with a dungeon, and you have nothing better to do than chat or duel in Gelkmaros Fortress, go and help them, that's what legionmates are for.

5.3) Listen to the instructions
Always listen to others and pay attention to the chat. Don't do something reckless, don't ignore the legionleaders, don't ignore the group/alliance leaders. No matter how experienced you think you are, if we say do one thing, and you do another, and the group gets wiped because of that, then we (meaning you) have a problem.

5.4) Fort instances.
- class roll for weapons / armor / accessories
- lesser icons and medals FFA (except platinum medals)
- other relics – you win one, you get marked
- If someone from the group has ap relic counter, the ap will go to who has the lesser ap atm.

5.5) World Bosses drop distribution:
These drops are a special case within the legion. They will be held by Brig/Deps/Cents until the leaders decide who has worked hard enough to get them. You can check the legion warehouse to see wich drops we have and send a ingame mail to the leader in charge of that specific item (you can see which in the ingame announcement) stating politely that you are interested in an item from there. The decision to give an item will be based on the activity/performance of the members and how long they have been in the legion. Don't expect to get a Sunayaka Sword on your first day of being here - you'll have to prove your worth first. Don't beg for the item, or try to buy it from the leaders, or your place will be sure to go way down the list.

5.6) Tradeable world drops

Concerning world drops from regular mobs that are tradeable. Obviously we can't force people to share them with another legion member instead of making money/breaking for enchants/using them to equip an alt. We can, however, motivate you to do it. Lets call it donation. Similar to helping with gathering materials for crafting, if a menber donates a gold item to the legion, the gold item will be treated as a Boss Drop and will be distributed within the Legion.
What are the advantagees for the donator?  The donator will be included in the waiting list for the World Boss Drops and is very likely to get it. Every time you donate you will get a '+'. The more pluses you have, the more you move up on the list that can be found here
*Alt characters are not to be included into this list, ever*

This idea ended up being hard to implement and even harder to keep updated, plus we farm far higher bosses now and we need all the legion warehouse slots for those drops.

5.7) Medals Request

The Brigade receives alot of silver and gold medals for keeping and sucessfully defending an abyss fort. Those medals are put to legion warehouse for necessary use. To request medals from the legion warehouse you must:
- be in the legion for more than a week, and have legionaire status and not volunteer. You will only be a legionaire if you have made an application here in the forums.
- be an active menber, that is, participating in legion activities, going to seiges, going to raid bosses with the legion
- have the necessary Ap required to buy the Ap item you want
- take a screenshot showing wich item you want to buy, and that you have the necssary ap to buy it and post it in this thread: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

6. Kicking / Leaving legion

Kicking is the last resort when solving a big problem. The leaders will always try to talk with the problematic members and solve the issue in another way, but if you break the rules severely (racism, sexual based hate talk and  harassment, botting/hacking, ninja-ing etc) you will leave us no with other choice.
If you want to leave the legion, don't be rash and leave in an instant, try to resolve the problem with the leaders first. We would very much appreciate it if you tell us details about why you are leaving. Besides, if you just leave without saying anything it's pretty rude and disrespectful. In the end, we are all in this legion together, in good times and bad, and we've played together for some time.

7. Getting invited back to the legion

If you were kicked because of inactivity/left the legion and want to get back in, you'll have to open a new application thread  here and fill out the application form again. This is obligatory for everyone, no excuses! You'll have to mention in your application that you were in Eclipse before and what your reason for the kicking/leaving has been. (Hackers/Bots/Ninjas will not be invited again, ever, so don't even bother trying). After you send your application again, the leaders will talk to each other to decide if you will get a second chance or not, and will inform you of their decision in the thread you've opened.
Bear this in mind before leaving the legion. We are not your playground where you can return to whenever you like. We're a serious legion and the fact that you may know our Brig/Dept/Cent will not garantee you a place here if you disrespect us.

Thank you for the attention,

XRay~

*Update of the Legion Rules*

Quote :
1.3.) Alts and the gearing up process

You can have an alt character in the legion. However, if you want to join the alt char to the legion, you have to write up a new application form, where you will state that it's the alt char of "XY"'. However, if there will be a lack of room for new members, your alt might have to be removed. If your alt is inactive, it will be removed. If you don't contribute to the legion or help legionmates, it will be removed.
Most important issue regarding alts: Mains > alts. That means that if your legionmate needs a raid drop for his main, you will not be greedy bastard and roll on it for your alt. If you do it will be considered a breach of the rules and you will be removed.

*updated 1.2 with application restrictions*

Quote :

1.2) Inviting routine:
If you want to be member of Eclipse you need to do a few things:
- register here on forums
- open an application thread here and fill out the following application form as detailed as possible in order for us to get an idea of who you are.
- Requirements for becoming a member:
Quote :
1 - You need to be lvl 35 or above.
2 - Have knowledge of the English language - be able to speak it, and understand it. We won't invite people who can't understand the leader's instructions
3 - If you had an IA account, state that information in private server, along with your name/legion in that server. Might make your entry faster if we knew that you were a good player.
4 - If a friend inside Eclipse recommended our legion to you, state who it is, so we can confirm it with that person. And make sure it's a friend and not someone that you've only talked for 5 seconds or saw his name trolling on lfg.
IF YOU SAY YOU HAVE FRIENDS IN THE LEGION BUT SIMPLY REFUSE TO GIVE THEIR NAMES AFTER YOU'VE BEEN ASKED, WE'LL JUST ASSUME THAT YOU'RE LYING TO GET IN FASTER AND REJECT YOU.
- when you are done, the only thing left for you to do is be patient until the leadership reaches a decision regarding your status. A reply will be left in your thread and, if it's positive, you will be asked to contact one of the leaders (listed in 1.1) ingame.
